Web Connection

The Remote Access Service lets you use CSTCC network software and services over the Internet. You must install the Remote Desktop Connection Active-X control when prompted to do so by your Internet browser.  Otherwise the Connect button will be greyed out.

Windows XP Users

Windows XP has a Remote Desktop Connection (RDC) client that is recommended instead of this web connection. The RDC client lets you connect your local hard drive from the remote session. In this way you can transfer files between your local computer and your Z: drive or MyDocuments.

Click:

   Start> Programs> Accessories> Communications>
   Remote Desktop Connection.

Enter: CSC-MC-TS-1.cincinnatistate.edu
for the Computer name.

Windows 98/ME/2000 Users

If you are not running Windows XP, you can ' download the RDC Client (3.30MB) and select Open when prompted to either Save or Open the file.

Apple Mac Users

An RDC client for Mac users can be downloaded from  www.mactopia.com. Click the "Downloads" link and download the "Remote Desktop Connection Client for Mac".

This service is provided for academic usage only - unauthorized use is strictly prohibited.

Software installation on the server is prohibited.
Installed Software

Save important files only on your Z: drive or to your My Documents folder on the server. Then you can copy the files to another drive on your computer.

Session Limits

Sessions will be terminated after the following time limits:

Disconnected sessions - 5 minutes
Active but idle sessions - 1 hour
Active session limit - 1 day
